Costa Rica’s reputation as an exotic spot to film reality television has captured another series. “I’m a Celebrity — Get Me Out of Here!” is coming to the Sarapiqui area of Costa Rica.While the complete roster of players is not yet known, Steven Balwin, a casualty of “The Apprentice” and Sanjaya Malakar of “American Idol” will be making another attempt to win first place, while model Janice Dickinson, NBA basketball star John Salley and those irrepressible blondes from MTV’s “The Hills”, Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag, will be making a first attempt to capture a prize.

The many different and beautiful environments found in Costa Rica, coupled with an infrastructure that allows for pleasant accommodations for the film crew make this country a very attractive spot for filming adventure shows. Other shows include “Man vs. Wild”, “Survivorman”, and “Supermodel Showdown”.

The latest to enter the reality arena, “I’m a Celebrity…” will be filmed and aired in real time with the American audience deciding the next moves the celebrities will make, as well as who will stay and who must go. According to the show’s producer, Chris Brogden, the reality series will be employing as many Costa Ricans as possible for the duration of filming.
