Costa Rica’s newest and most unique tourist attraction boasts over 150 animals. There are native species, such as monkeys, wild rabbits, birds, guatusas to name a few, but there's even more!
Among the non-native wildlife you'll see reticulated giraffes, the incredible Giant Eland, endangered Bongos, Mask-faced Oryx, Warthogs, Zebras, Ostriches, Antelope, Deer, Watusi African Cattle and Camels.
The grounds include a Visitor's Center, restaurants, souvenir shops, a picnic area and a large covered terrace with swimming pool for groups and special events. The facility also includes a feature film experience that will immerse you in the sights, sounds and even smells of the wildlife.
The climate of Northwest Costa Rica is very similar to the African Savannah, making an easy transition for the new species so they can adapt and thrive. Special attention has been taken to create habitats that mimic the original surroundings. You'll find open plains with shade trees for the savannah animals, shallow lakes and waterfalls for birds and water species, and intermediate forest for tree-loving species.
Tours
Observation Tour - Your tour guide will drive to certain sections around the perimeter of the Park where'll you'll be allowed to disembark and walk up on the Observation Wall to view the animals below. This is a wonderful way to discover theses majestic animals at your own pace.
Driving Tour - Your knowledgeable guide will drive you to major viewing points around the Park in an air-conditioned vehicle. No walking necessary!
The African Safari Wildlife Tour -- This is the ultimate animal experience! Africa is waiting to be rediscovered in this unique tour with low environmental impact. Just like in Africa, you'll travel in a secure 4-wheel drive vehicle while the animals roam free. This is a Tour INSIDE the savannah with a knowledgeable guide. You'll also travel to a waterfall located in a primary forest. This up close encounter in a non-disturbing approach for the animals and will allow you to experience wild animal behavior in their natural habitat.
