New Hospital for Guanacaste

In November 2010, CIMA began construction on a new state-of-the-art hospital complex near the International Airport in Liberia.

CIMALogo.gifThe CIMA Hospital brand is constructing a new hospital that will be located in Pacific Plaza, next to the Do-It Center and near the international airport outside of Liberia, Guanacaste. this state-of-the-art facility will be less than an hour drive from the popular beaches along the North Pacific Coast. The $125 million hospital project  will offer all the services that are currently available in San Jose and will also be a combination health and commercial complex, including a residential community for patients that need time to recover from their procedures or those that need long term care. A building dedicated to medical consultations, a heliport, restaurants and a shopping center are also included in the plans.

Currently those in the Guanacaste needing serious medical care have to travel up to six hours to San Jose to medical centers such as CIMA and Clinica Biblica to receive quality medical care. The new hospital is set to change that, offering modern, state-of-the-art medical facilities just minutes from the beaches of Guanacaste.

CIMA recently obtained accreditation from the Joint Commission International, a non-governmental entity of the United States, that determines the quality of services provided by the medical center within the country. CIMA belongs to the International Hospital Corporation (IHC), which has hospitals in Brazil and Mexico.

The first stage of the development is the construction of a 2,000 square meter medical center, a helipad, medical offices, a restaurant and an extended stay hotel for patients, their families and the doctors who will work there.

The second phase will be developed on a 20,000 square meter plot of land and is to include an enlargement of the medical center and the construction of social service areas. The third phase will include the residential development and the fourth phase is designated for the development of retirement and assisted living communities.
