Casa Sirena, or Mermaid House, is elegant but homey and one of the newest beachfront rental properties in all of Costa Rica. Located on Playa Danta at Las Catalinas, you can see the skyline of Flamingo across the bay and it is only a 15 minute drive to Flamingo, 35 minutes to Tamarindo and 35 minutes to Playa Grande.

As you enter Casa Sirena, you are treated to a magnificent outdoor entry passage enclosed by beautiful wrought iron folding gates, a fountain and a domed ceiling of Coralina stone. The fountain flows under your entry path and into the turquoise saline pool. plunge pool and a heated Jacuzzi with jets to accommodate eight people.All of this with unobstructed views of the waves folding on the beach and the islands beyond.

After passing through a second set of doors to the vestibule and stair landing, you look out to the main living level and enter a generously equipped gourmet kitchen with Wolf cooking appliances and Subzero refrigeration, ice makers and wine coolers. The kitchen has an oversized granite island with seating for six.

The kitchen flows through to a family room with inviting, comfortable furniture and opens to the outside through beautifully handcrafted hardwood double French doors that lead to the garden, pool area and covered dining and kitchen, which includes a Wolf gas grill, ice machine, sink and refrigerator. Also on the main floor and beyond the laundry room is a nicely appointed bedroom equipped with a 3 person bunk bed, with a full bed on the bottom and a single on top. It also has a private, well-appointed full bathroom.

After going up a beautiful wooden spiral staircase you find the whole second level floor covered in exotic hardwood and the entire ceiling of the second level has a vaulted open beam ceiling of exotic hardwood. On this second level you find the three main bedrooms. The master bedroom is spacious with a large covered terrace and a bathroom tastefully set up for two to use comfortably. A large walk-in shower comes with a rainforest shower head and an additional handheld multi-function nozzle. The toilet chamber is equipped with a Toto Washlet toilet/bidet that is only found in the highest quality accommodations. The master walk-through closet is all cedar.

Two more bedrooms are on the second level, one with a king size bed, a generous full bathroom and beautiful ocean views. The 3rd bedroom on the middle level has a queen size bed and another generous full bathroom. All 3 bedrooms are surrounded by a covered wrap around deck and from there you can enjoy the ocean view and breeze and gaze down on beautiful Plaza Escondida with its fountain, water feature and inspiring landscaping.

The 3rd floor of the house can be accessed via a wooden spiral stairway which leads to the Tower Room. The Tower Room is equipped with a day bed, TV, desk and private outside deck with a beautiful garden including orange and almond trees. If you are here at the right time of the year, you will see the trees laden with fruit. The Tower Room can easily be added as a sleeping space for extra guests. An additional outside shower is located for privacy created by a beautiful garden.

Guests of Casa Sirena also have access to the community's beachfront restaurant and activity center, where a variety of water and mountain sports equipment is available.
